The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has one project Marengo County listed for bid openings on Jan. 26.

The project will be for constructing the planing, resurfacing, guardrail installation, steel blockout replacement, and traffic stripe on SR-8 (US Highway 80) from the junction of Lee Avenue in Demopolis to the Hale County Line. Construction will be approximately 4.85 miles.

The Bracket Estimate on this project is from $2,638,892 to $3,225,312 .

The project must be completed by Dec. 31, 2024 as stated on ALDOT’s website.
