Genesis 1:3,6,9,11,14,20,24,26,29. Then God said!

God created in the beginning, out of nothing, everything needed for our world today. He spoke, and worlds were formed. God’s image was stamped on mankind as He breathed life into the clay He fashioned with His own hands, Genesis 2:26. God spoke a lot during that first week of creation. I read and believe God still speaks today. He speaks through all of the heavens. Psalms 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God. Day after day, they pour forth speech; night after night, they reveal knowledge.”

God will, at times, give us songs in the night. Job 35:10-11, “Where is God my maker, Who gives songs in the night: Who teaches us more than the beast of the earth, and makes us wiser than the fowls?

God speaks through our hearts, minds, and spirit when we know Him personally! To hear God, we must tune our lives to Him. We have His Word for guidelines! He walked in the garden with Adam and Eve. He desires a relationship with us. As the old hymn says, “And He walks with me, and He talks with me.” We have the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who comes to live in us once we call on Jesus’ name and accept Him.

Are you listening? Do you hear God speak? When you read the Bible, does it wake up your mind and conscience to what it says?

I encourage you to commit to sitting quietly with no distractions and read His Word. If you are new at listening to God’s voice, pray, read, maybe start with the Gospel of John, and sit quietly to meditate on what God is revealing to you. Just a note to begin in John’s gospel reveals Jesus’ love for all of us.
