In my opinion, there is nothing better than eating a nice, warm chocolate chip cookie. Especially when the cookie is huge, scaled up into the size of a skillet. I remember the first time I tasted a chocolate chip cookie skillet, also known as a “pizookie.”
I have eaten many different types of cookie skillets and it is honestly such a different experience when you make it from scratch yourself. The dessert is one of the best things you could make, especially for a chocolate lover.
The recipe is simple and very easy to follow along with and will make one of the tastiest desserts ever.
Ingredients
- ¾ cups unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preparation
First, preheat the oven to 350°F then grease a 12-inch cast iron skillet (you can use a 12-inch round pan instead. In a big bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter. After mixing, add in the eggs and vanilla and mix until fully combined. Add the cornstarch, flour, salt, and baking soda then mix fully. Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkle flour over a countertop and your hands so that you can knead the cookie dough. After kneading, spread the dough evenly in the greased skillet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cookie is golden brown. Make sure to not over bake the cookie. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Finally, the delicious treat is done.
Enjoy your dessert either alone or serve it with ice cream and chocolate syrup.
