Betty Joyce Spear Caples

Hokes Bluff, Ala

Betty Joyce Spear Caples, 65, Hokes Bluff, died Thursday, June 10, 2004. Funeral services were Sunday, June 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Hokes Bluff House of Prayer. The Rev. Mitchell Hill officiated. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery. Hokes Bluff-Glenco Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Caples had lived in Etowah County for a number of years and was a former resident of Demopolis, having graduated from Demopolis High School in 1958. She was a member of the Hokes Bluff House of Prayer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, W. and Lillian Nixon Spear of Demopolis and two infant brothers.

Mrs. Caples is survived by her husband, Richard M. Caples, Gadsden; daughters, Pam (Donnie) Lancaster, Gadsden; Tracy (Mike) Whitfield, Delta; four grandchildren, Tonya (T.D.) Mayhall and Michael Lancaster, Gadsden; Chris Whitfield and Cody Whitfield, Delta; one brother, William Edward Spear, Ocala, Fla.; four sisters, Estelle S. Money, Demopolis, Elizabeth S. Anderson, Shady Grove, Fla.; Dorothy S. Nichols, Chickasaw, Jackie S. Mann, Ocala, Fla. and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Henry McGlaughn, Wayne Ferrell, Van Lancaster, T.D. Mayhall, James Lewis and Harold Davis.

Douglas John Aultman

Marion, Ala

Mr. Douglas John Aultman, 74, Marion, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004. Graveside services will be Monday, June 21, 2004 at 11 a.m. the Rev. Thomas Fondren will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel. Mr. Aultman is survived by two sons, Douglas Alan Aultman, Marion and Shawn Aultman of Florida; three brothers, David Aultman, Marion, Jack Aultman, Houston, Texas, and Lewis Aultman of Centerville; four sisters, Johnnie Crocker, Marion, Bettie Baker, Mary Lehman, Dothan, and Ruth Trotter, Selma.

Mr. Aultman was born on June 27, 1929 in Bibb County. His parents were Dotson Wirtley and Mary Mobley Aultman.
