Andre Woods

Andre Woods, of Demopolis, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the New Greene Oak Baptist Church in Forkland with Rev. Henry Woods officiating.

The remains will repose at the church Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Burial will be held in the New Greene Oak Cemetery under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

Mr. Woods is survived by his loving mother, Agnes Marie Woods of Demopolis; a father, Adam Hildreth of Demopolis; a sister, Takeisha Woods of Demopolis; a grandmother, Willie Dale Hildreth of Demopolis; aunts and uncles, Dorothy (Freddie) Armstead, James Woods of Waukegan, Ill., Henry (Bernice) Woods of Gurnee, Ill., Therman (Helen) Woods of Waukegan, Ill., Mary Gh’Rael of New York, N.Y.;

Pinkie Morrow of Demopolis, and Willie D. Hildreth, Teresa Hildreth, Ruby Dale (Cleophus) Sims, George Hildreth, Charlie Hildreth and Walter (Gail Raby) Hildreth, all of Demopolis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Andrew Murdock

Hillsborough, N.C.

Andrew Murdock, 61, of Hillsborough, N.C. and a former native of Demopolis, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Alamance County Hospice Care Center in Hillsborough.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Gilfield Baptist Church in Gallion with Rev. Lacornia Harris officiating.

The remains will repose at the church on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial will be held at the Gilfield Community Cemetery in Gallion under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

He is survived by a loving wife, Catherine Murdock of Hillsborough, N.C.; his children, Kathy (Tamer) Zayan of Burlington, N.C., Christy (Brent) Murdock, Kevin (Carol) Riley and Anthony Riley, all of Mebane, N.C.; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Riley of Hillsborough, N.C.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Julian (Mary) Murdock of Demopolis, Rev. James (Ella) Murdock of Uniontown and Abraham (Barbara Ann) Murdock of Birmingham; four sisters, Maldotha Murdock, Irnetta Murdock and Esther Murdock, all of Gallion, and Annie (Tom) Rowser of Demopolis; two aunts, Mary Reeves of Birmingham and Gertrude Dudley of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Christine Reed

Newbern

Christine Reed, 35, of Newbern, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at the Hale County Hospital in Greensboro.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Newbern with Rev. Hezekiah Young officiating.

Burial will be held at the McCrary Cemetery in Newbern under the direction of Washington Paige and Rollins Mortuary in Greensboro.

Robert Edwards

Greensboro

Robert Edwards, 50, of Greensboro, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at his residence.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at St. Matthew AME Church in Greensboro with Rev. Erroll Brantley Sr. officiating.

Burial will be held in the St. Paul Cemetery in Greensboro under the direction of Washington Paige and Rollins Mortuary.

Ernest Moore Boyd

Livingston

Ernest Moore Boyd, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Hill Hospital in York, Ala.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church in Livingston with Rev. Sandra Price officiating.

Burial will be held at Myrtlewood Cemetery in Livingston under the direction of Bumpers Funeral Home in York.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Telitha Boyd.

Mr. Boyd is survived by a daughter, Mary Kay Cooper (Tony) of Robertsdale, Ala.; a son, Lanny (Nancy) Boyd of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Anthony Cooper, Chris Cooper and Cara Cooper Childress (Steve) of Robertsdale, and Mark Boyd and Marla Boyd Davis (Bill) of Tuscaloosa; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Cooper and Ashley Cooper of Robertsdale; and two sisters, Margaret Brannon of Livingston and Hattie Mary Holliman of Linden.

Pallbearers will be Mark Boyd, Chris Cooper, Anthony Cooper, Bill Davis, Michael Larkin and Randy Ingram.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the First Presbyterian Church or your favority charity.
