The case against Michael A. Landrum and Jeffrey Lavan Napier, the two suspects in the deaths of a grandmother and grandchild on County Road 44, will go before a Marengo County Grand Jury in November, according to the Circuit Clerk’s office.

Both suspects were denied bail August 28 in Marengo County District Court. Judge Wade Drinkard presided.

Both were arrested on two counts of capital murder in the deaths of Ida Little, 52, and Mikayla Little, 3. Both victims were shot in the head with a handgun, according to the warrant.

The case was investigated by the Marengo County Sheriff’s Department. agent Dan Watson of the Alabama Bureau of Investigation in Selma and Bill Mason of the District Attorney’s office.

Landrum was involved in a paternity action brought in March 2002 by the child victim’s mother Wanda Little. A Parentage Evaluation Report from UAB Genetic Testing on May 28, 2002, stated 99.99 percent that Landrum was the father of Mikayla Little.

He was ordered to pay $484 a month and insurance beginning August 1, 2002.
