Full slate of games for former local players over weekend

If you want to keep up with how former local players are doing at the college level, here is a schedule for who their teams are playing and when this weekend.

UWA has the most former Marengo County players on their roster with five. Hollis Bright and Martaze Jackson from Demopolis, Justin DeLaine and T.J. Hinton from Linden and Ty Morgan from Sweet Water will travel with the Tigers to Jacksonville State to take on the Gamecocks at 3 p.m. Saturday. Former Demopolis running back DaMarcus James, former Patriot Gerald Bruno and former Bulldogs Jakoby Aldridge and Chris Landrum will line up across from UWA on Saturday.

Former DHS Tiger Taylor Polk and former Linden Patriot Terris Lewis will travel to Athens, Ga., with their Troy Trojans to battle the Georgia Bulldogs at 11 a.m. on the SEC Network.

Demetrius Kemp, Cortez Lewis and their Wake Forest Demon Deacons will host Army on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN3.

Larry Cobb and Demarcus Gamble will try to make an impact for their Tuskegee Golden Tigers as they take on Winston-Salem State University at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Former Demopolis Tiger Tyler Merriweather and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets travel to Virginia Tech for an 11 a.m. kickoff on ESPN.

South Alabama and former Demopolis Tiger Steven Foster will host Georgia Southern at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Demopolis’ Wiley Isaac and the Stillman Tigers host St. Augustine’s University at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Linden’s Tyler Davis and Alabama A&M will be in Houston taking on Texas Southern at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Najee Bright and Alabama State hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday night on ESPNU at 6:30 p.m.

Former Sweet Water Bulldog Derrick Tucker and the Miles Golden Bears will battle Hampton University at 5 p.m. Saturday in Hampton, Va.

Mississippi College, the home of former Demopolis Tiger Peyton Pearson, hits the road to go up against Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas at 7 p.m. Saturday.
