Robert Taylor Kirkham Jr., age 78, of Sweet Water died August 13, 2018 with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease at Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Kirkham was born Sept. 29, 1939 in Dallas County, Alabama to Robert Taylor and Marie Kirkham. He was a retired electronic technician with Georgia Pacific Corp., a member of Crossroads Community Church in Dixons Mills, and a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his wife, Laurice Butler Kirkham of Sweet Water; son, James C. (Laurie) Thomas Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana; daughter, Elizabeth T. Knight of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two sisters, Patricia Kight of Leroy, Alabama and Carol (Stan) Etheridge of Thomasville; two brothers, William (Brenda) Kirkham of Athens, Alabama and Mark (Wynelle) Kirkham of Rogersville, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Josiah Thomas, Nathanael (Saudia) Thomas, Rebekah (Joshua) Porch, Ethan Thomas, Turner (Devon) Knight, Helen Grace Knight, and Hunter Knight; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Belle Smith, Brooklyn Knight, Maylee Knight, and Asher Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Akridge officiating. Burial was at Sweet Water Cemetery in Sweet Water.

Active Pallbearers were: Josiah Thomas, Nathanael Thomas, Ethan Thomas, Hunter Knight, Michael Robison, Patrick Robison, and Roger Knight.

Honorary Pallbearers were: the Deacons and Elders of Crossroads Community Church.
