ALABASTER — Rachel Marie Dismukes Nicholson, 59, of Alabaster, died July 10, 2008 at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. on July 14, 2008 at Oakwood Cemetery in Alabaster. The Rev. Alton Phillips presided. Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directed.
She was born Oct. 13, 1948 in Selma to the late Reese Coats and Madelin Rachel Jackson Dismukes. Nicholson was a corporate librarian for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
Nicholson was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Carrie Thomas Dismukes.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Nicholson. The couple was married 35 years. Other survivors include a daughter, Megan Nicholson Nelson and her husband, Jeremy, of Madison; and a grandchild, Caleb Nelson, also of Madison; a brother, Reese Coats Dismukes Jr. and his wife, Pattie, of Greensboro.
