Collins wins Demopolis mayoral run-off

The City of Demopolis has elected Woody Collins as its new mayor for the next four years. Collins won the run-off election over Aliquippa Allen. The final results were 1,390 to 1253. David McCants won the District 3 council position over T’Keisha Chandler. The final results were 231 to 183.

In the absentee vote, Allen won 142 to 94. For District 1, Allen won 363 to 80. In District 2, Allen won the vote 350 to 62. District 3 saw 201 votes for Collins and 183 for Allen. In District 4, Collins won the vote 408 to 142 for Allen, and in District 5, Collins won 545 to 73.

For the District 3 run-off between Chandler and McCants, Chandler won the absentee ballot vote 23 to 11. For the District 3 vote, McCants won the vote 220 to 160.

In the Linden run-off election for the District 3 councilman seat, Kelly Anthony received 99 votes to Milison Price’s 53 votes.
