Marey Ethel Ballard, 83, a retired seamstress of Nicholville, died Thursday, June 2 at Thomasville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Aug. 5, 1927 in Nicholsville. She was a member of the Nicholsville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons Kent Marvin Ballard of Thomasville and James R. Ballard Jr. of Pine HIll, daughters Cheryl Diane Harrison Wright of Grove HIll and Judy B. Barnes of Demopolis, brothers Billy Black of Nicholsville, Walker Black of Faunsdale and Wayne Black of Nicholsville, sisters Janie Ballard of Myrtlewood, Martha Jean Smith of Thomasville, Elizabeth Sue Reed of Vineland, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ty Parten officiating. Burial was at Old Liberty Cemetery in Nicholsville.

Active Pallbearers were Keith Harrison, Justin Barnes, Joshua Barnes, Rick Ballard, Will Ross and Zack Ross. Honorary Pallbearers were Chris Burbank, Craig Black, Andy Black, Butch Black and Scott Irvin.
