The First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis is having its annual Puddle Jumper consignment sale this weekend.

The sale opened for consigners Friday evening, with items from 34 different owners being put up for grabs.

“I would really say they are more successful for the consigner because the consigner gets 70 percent, we get 30,” Kami Basinger, co-organizer of the event said. “They are able to get rid of their stuff and get more stuff.”

The sale is the third of its kind for the church, which held a spring and a fall sale last year.

The event has blossomed beyond its original boundaries, no including consigners from Linden, Sweet Water, Greensboro, Marion and other nearby communities.

“With each sale, we’ve branched out a little bit more,” Basinger said. “Anybody can participate.”

The items available this go-round include everything from baby clothes to toddler clothes to toys to safety devices, car seats and the like.

“We ask that (consigners) price their things anywhere from a quarter to half original price,” Basinger said. “It is really good for young families just starting out.”

The doors for the sale open at 8 a.m. today and will remain open until 10:30.
