DEMOPOLIS &8212; On Thanksgiving, not everyone will have a turkey and dressing to be thankful for. That was the thought of Demopolis rapper Bradley White &8212; known as &8220;Yo Boy&8221; &8212; when he and his organization decided to provide a Thanksgiving lunch this year.

White&8217;s organization, To All a Time to Share productions, held their first free community event in July, which was a day of barbeque and game in the park. He has since been working to plan another free community event, which is a Thanksgiving lunch at the U.S. Jones cafeteria from noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday.

The meal is being provided entirely by donations and from the funds of the To All a Time to Share productions, which come from the proceeds of White&8217;s album sales.

According to Clayton, White was once a troubled teen who dropped out of high school. Since then, he started his rapping career with his first CD, &8220;This City is Mine&8221; and formed the organization as a way to give back to his community.

Clayton said they have received help from both Food World and the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital nutrition staff. They are also relying on friends and family to do some fill-in cooking for the meal.

In the future, Clayton said, White hopes his organization is in a position to do more events for the community and also help fund clothes and even pay utility bills for families in need.
