CALERA &8212; Sue Ella Drummond Henderson died on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at Eutaw Baptist Church in Eutaw with services at 3 p.m. at the church with the Revs. Jerry Henderson and Rick Williams and other family members officiating. Interment will follow in Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors of Demopolis in charge of the arrangements.

She was born in Beulah community in Greene County on July 25, 1912, the daughter of David Drummond and Ella Stephens Drummond. She attended Enterprise School in Greene County before dropping out to get married at age 15. She was married for 42 years to Charles Reginald Henderson Sr. until his death in 1972. They reared 11 children.

&8220;Miss Sue&8221; was a member of Beulah Baptist Church while growing up and became a member of Eutaw Baptist Church in Eutaw when she married. She was an active member of the church choir, WMU (serving as a state regional director), a Sunday school teacher and the coordinator of Bible study for the Greene County Nursing Home. She was also a lifelong member of the Amity Chapter of The Eastern Star, serving in several leadership positions and as worthy matron. She was employed for many years at Marengo Mills in Demopolis.

She was preceded in death by both parents, all of her brothers and sisters, with the exception of Fannie Mae Roebuck of Joppa. She was also preceded in death by five of her children, Harold Duane Henderson, infant twins, David and Sue Ellen Henderson Cochran.

She is survived by six children, Charles Reginald Henderson Jr. of Eutaw, Col. Jesse J. Henderson (USAF, Ret.), of Austin, Texas, Peggy Henderson Stuckey of Huntsville, Patricia Henderson Rankin of Calera, Linda Henderson Fontaine of Kingsport, Tenn., the Rev. Jerry D. Henderson of Birmingham; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Duane Cochran, Charles Fontaine, Chris Henderson, C.R. &8220;Pete&8221; Henderson III, Gary Henderson, Bruce Martin, Dennis Martin, Derrick Stuckey, Lynn Stuckey and Michael Stuckey.
