SWEET WATER &045; Push, push, push, is what the Sweet Water Bulldogs did with the basketball last night, enroute to a 59-26 sprint over the Fruitdale Pirates.

The Bulldogs never stopped running. They scored the first four points of the game and sprinted away from Fruitdale the rest of the game.

The first quarter ended with a 12-6 score. The second quarter was a different story, as Sweet Water held the Pirates to just three points. Offensively, Butch Williams led the charge for the Bulldogs, dropping in 10 points, including two three-pointers.

To the Pirates defense, they only dressed seven players for the game and just couldn’t keep up with the running &8216;Dawgs.’

Coach Williams used much of his bench in the final eight minutes of play. They never slowed down the defensive intensity, which led to 17 points in the quarter against a tired Pirate team.

Antonio Landrum led the Bulldogs with 13 points and seven rebounds. Butch Williams finished with 12 points. Anthony Landrum pulled down seven rebounds for Sweet Water.

The Bull Dogs will head down Highway 10 to Dixons Mills tomorrow to battle the Marengo High Panthers.

Lady Bulldogs can’t stay with Fruitdale
