Vivian Lee Thigpen Whitfield

Vivian Lee Thigpen Whitfield, 58, passed away on Nov. 5 at her son’s residence in Brandon, Miss. She was a retired manager in the Sample Department of Garan and a member of Adaton United Methodist Church.

Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents, Iverson Hoover Thigpen and Bessie Duke Thigpen.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Whitfield of Starkville, Miss; sons, Tommy Whitfield (Monica), David Whitfield (Joan) and Paul Whitfield, all of Brandon, Miss; sister, Teressa Colburn; brother, Ira Thigpen (Sandi); and grandchildren, Abby, Breahna and Dylan.

Visitation for Mrs. Whitfield is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, Miss. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home. The Rev. Ben Butler, the Rev. Barry Robinson and the Rev. Bryan Carrubba will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Adaton United Methodist Church cemetery.
