Mattye Earle Hill, 84, of Linden, died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at BWWMH.

Graveside services were held Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 11 a.m.

The Revs. Daniel Gandy and Billy Harris officiated with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Interment followed in New Octagon Cemetery in Linden, AL.

Mrs. Hill is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son, Betty Lewis of Centreville, AL, Faye Vick of Linden, Pat Windham of Linden, and Tommy Hill of Linden.

Pallbearers were Bill Lewis, George Lewis, Tony Lewis, Adam Lewis, Henry Vick Jr., and Donald Glass.

Steven Wade Breland, 14, of Marion died Friday, August 20, 2004 on Perry County Road 23. Funeral

services were Monday, August 23, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the New Canaan Holiness Church with interment in the Mt. Ivah Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Grantham and the Rev. Brian Consley officiated and Kirk Funeral Home Greensboro Chapel directed. Steven is survived by: his parents, Susan and Sammy Breland of Marion; Maternal Grandparents Ann and Carl Knight of Bessemer, Paternal Grandparents Evie and Claude Breland of Marion, Maternal Great-grandmother Dorothy Vines of Berry, Paternal Great-grandmother, Lucille Averette of Greensboro. A devoted Uncle Ricky Breland, Uncles Marvin Breland, Rocky Knight, and Sam Johnson as well as a number of cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents Ruby and Sam Johnson, Maternal Great-grandfather Floyd Knight, Paternal Great-grandfather Earl Ingram, Paternal great-grandparents Woodfin and Stella Mae Breland. Paulbearers were Shirley Aultman, Johnny Kynard, Jamie Fisher, Kevin Breland, Brandon Breland, and Jason Fondren. Honorary paulbearers included John Kynard, David Wheat, Johnny Kynard Logging, Hale County Cleaners, Max McCrary, Benjamin McCrary
