ATRC’s Area Agency on Aging celebrates Older Americans Month

Each May, the Administration on Aging, part of the Administration for Community Living, leads our nation’s observance of Older Americans Month.

This year’s theme is Engage at Every Age, which emphasizes you are never too old (or too young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being and celebrates the many ways older adults make a difference in our communities.

The Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging will celebrate Older Americans Month for persons age 60 and over, on Tuesday, May 22, at the Carl Morgan Convention Center, 211 Washington St. in Selma, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for senior center participants  from Dallas, Marengo, Perry, Sumter, and Wilcox counties.

Activities will include Health Promotion Vendors, Music, Dance around the May Pole, Spring Hat Contest, Pie Baking Contest, Door Prizes, and Lunch.

For additional information or to make a reservation if you are not a senior center participant, please contact:  Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission Area Agency on Aging 334-682-5206 or 888-617-0500.
