Dale William Barger Jr., 78, of Linden died Feb. 14, 2016 at the Marengo Nursing Home.
Mr. Barger was born Sept. 5, 1937 in Livingston. He was a retired millwright and served in the Alabama National Guard. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a lay speaker and taught Sunday school at Marengo Nursing Home for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Barger; son, Thomas (Martha Kidd) Barger; two daughters, Linda (Steve) Taylor and Angela (David) Stokes; two sisters, Lucille Luker and Judy Hodo; seven grandchildren, Erik (Amanda) Taylor, Amy Taylor, Brian Taylor, Galen (Cara Dillard) Stokes, Jacob Barger, Ashley (Rich) Quinney, and Payton Stokes; and one great-grandchild, Anne Sutton Quinney.
Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Burial was in the Linden Memorial Park.
