DHS baseball and soccer prepare for playoff action
Demopolis High School sports have a busy weekend ahead as both the baseball and varsity boys soccer team prepare for the third round in their respective playoffs.
DHS baseball (18-8) starts the weekend with a Friday night doubleheader against the Rehobeth Rebels (28-9) starting at 4 p.m. with the second game scheduled for 6 p.m.
Rehoboth enters the weekend after pushing past Charles Henderson 4-3 in game one and winning game two 23-12 for the series sweep.
DHS soccer (14-2-0) hosts Helena (15-7-2) Saturday, May 7, in the Class 4A/5A AHSAA third round with start time scheduled at 5 p.m.
Helena enters the contest as the second ranked team in the 4A/5A classification and breezed by Carver-Birmingham 10-0 in the previous round.
No reason to stay at home this weekend Tiger fans as the young athletes for DHS will be providing quality entertainment and action in a quest to bring home state titles in two different sports.
