Linden Lumber, LLC was one of eight companies to receive the Governor’s Excellence of Trade Award for their successful exporting strategies. Over the past year, Linden has increased their footprint in the global market by opening a sales office and hiring staff in Shanghai, China where they continue to export high quality lumber from their Linden facility.
“Exports are an accelerator for Alabama’s economy, creating new jobs and expanding trade opportunities for businesses across the state,” Governor Robert Bentley said. “The world-class businesses being recognized today are not only creating great ‘Made-in-Alabama’ products but also showing the global marketplace just how innovative and competitive Alabama companies are.”
Linden Lumber’s customer base spans from New York to California and beyond including markets in Southeast Asia, Europe and Africa. The Linden facility employs 250 employees and is one of the largest single-site sawmills in the United States. Having recently installed a new double-end trimmer, upgraded their IT software, re-designed their famous red crown logo as well as countless other improvements, Linden continues their quest at redefining southern lumber.
Representatives from Linden Lumber and the community were in attendance for the prestigious award ceremony including Ashley Coplin from the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce and Peter Michael Reynolds representing the Demopolis Area Business Council.
