Myles Stuart Wallace
Mr. Myles Stuart Wallace, 69, of 315 Princess Grace Avenue, husband of Susan Ulmer Wallace, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
Born Nov. 1, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Sam and Nellie Biggs Wallace. He earned B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the University of Colorado. Following his undergraduate degree he served in the US Air Force for several years. He was on the faculty at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, at Western State College in Colorado and at Clemson University where he met his wife, Susan.
During his career at Clemson and after his retirement, he worked in France, Russia, Hungary, Thailand, China, Turkey and Bulgaria. He enjoyed teaching, research, traveling, biking, kayaking and skiing. He was a member of the Temple of Israel in Greenville.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by relatives and friends.
A graveside committal service was held at 10 a.m, Friday, March 25, in Woodland Cemetery on the campus of Clemson University.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 10, in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, South Carolina. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
