Demopolis scores win over Tusc.-Central

Demopolis High School improved to 6-1 on the season with a win Friday against Tuscaloosa Central, 40-7.

The first score came on a 22-yard pass from DHS’s Peyton Stevenson to Keyjun Gracie.

Gracie made his second touchdown of the night with three minutes left in the first quarter making the score 13-0 followed by a successful extra point by Malaki Simpson.

The Tigers’ increased its lead when Brandon Franklin went 43 yards untouched, and, after the extra point, Demopolis led 20-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Stevenson ran 16 yards to score in the second quarter, adding to the lead and another run by Stevenson led to 33-0 halftime edge.

The second half was played with a running clock, with neither team scoring during the third quarter.

The first play of the fourth quarter saw Antonio Besteder’s first touchdown of the night, bringing the score to 40-0.

Tuscaloosa Central got on the board with 11 minutes to go in the game, resulting in the final score of 40-7.

DHS returns home next week against Jemison.
