LIVINGSTON – With sights set on a bigger prize, seven Preseason All-Americans are among 130 University of West Alabama football players who reported to fall camp Sunday to begin defense of the 2012 Gulf South Conference championship.

“We are looking forward to tomorrow. We will get us a good lift and walk-through in the morning and then a great practice Monday afternoon,” Hall said. “Everybody seems to be in great spirits and in good shape.”

West Alabama will hit the field for the first time as a full squad Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. In accordance with NCAA Division II rules, the Tigers are allowed just three days of practicing twice daily. All UWA practices are open to the public.

“We are a ‘more the merrier’ program. Our practices are open to the public, we just ask that fans keep their smartphones in their pockets and don’t take pictures,” Hall said. “We will have the music rocking and it will be a fun afternoon.”

Predicted by GSC coaches to share the 2013 GSC crown with Valdosta State, UWA opens the 2013 football season Sept. 7 by hosting Clark Atlanta for an 11 a.m. kickoff at Tiger Stadium. The game will be televised as part of the GSC-TV LIVE network.

After opening the season against the Panthers, West Alabama travels to Lake Charles, La., to face FCS member McNeese State (Sept. 14) and then to Melbourne, Fla., to meet Florida Tech (Sept. 19) in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network.
