The Alabama Department of Revenue will sponsor a workshop for new businesses Nov. 5 that focuses on taxes.

The workshop will be Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. and then again at 6 p.m. at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center on First Avenue in Demopolis.

The free event will cover a variety of state tax topics like employer withholding taxes, state and local sales taxes, property taxes, business licensing requirements and Alabama’s child labor law.

An overview of Alabama’s business tax electronic filing programs will also be presented.

ADOR presenters will also provide participants with information about Alabama’s new ONE SPOT, a free Internet filing and payment portal that allows business taxpayers to now file and pay state, county, and city sales, use, and rental taxes all in one place.
