The Patriots continued their recent hot streak with a 62-59 home win over Francis Marion Tuesday night.

“Right now we’re on our emotional high,” head coach Joe Eatmon said. “That win tonight did more than anyone will ever know for our confidence.”

Eatmon’s team started the season at 1-5 before going on its current three-game tear.

“We had our worst day of practice all year (Monday),” Eatmon said. “It was a situation where we came out so flat and played so bad in the first half.”

Eatmon’s team trailed by 10 at halftime, a position that was familiar to the Patriots, who lost to Francis Marion by 10 in their season-opener.

“We picked it up in the second half,” Eatmon said.

Linden senior Kendarius Goodwill led the way with 18 points. Seniors Ajalon Bruno and Shantrell Braxton each added 12 while senior Martez Owens finished with 11.

“Anytime other guys are hitting shots, that makes us a lot better,” Eatmon said.

His team travels to A.L. Johnson Friday before visiting Marengo Saturday.
