POTW: Tripp Perry

Stepping up when it counts, that is the key to being a player of the week. Being the person that the team can rely on to make the play when needed says something about a player.

Demopolis 12 year old all-star Tripp Perry does just that. In Monday night’s game against Sumter County, Perry went 4-5 with 6 RBI.

To top his two doubles and the two-run home run he hit, Perry came in with the bases loaded in the fourth inning with Demopolis only up two and struck out Jeremy Hines, who could arguably be Sumter’s best hitter, to end the inning.

Perry was the definition of clutch and the spark that the 12 year olds needed in the first game of their district round robin tournament.

In Tuesday’s game against Linden Perry followed his first game performance with a great showing on the mound. He demanded the ball and pitched three shutout innings while earning the win in the 12 year olds.

At the plate Perry was able to stay hot getting another double and RBI.

As the all-stars keep their season going Tripp hopes to keep up his strong hitting and lead his team to yet another state play-off appearance.
