Fred O. Braswell Jr., age 85, of Demopolis passed away on Sept. 13, 2010, at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1924, in Demopolis to the late Fred O. and Maurine Neilson Braswell. He was the president of Robertson Banking Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Tolman Braswell; his brother, Samuel Neilson Braswell; and a nephew, Robert Reynolds Braswell.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam Braswell (Don) Daily of Dublin, Ga.; a son, Fred O. (Sandra) Braswell III of Wetumpka; a sister, Maurine “Bunny” (Riddell) Abrams of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Demopolis with Dr. Arthur Luckie officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel is directing the services.
Pallbearers will be Bill Mackey, Boyd Mackey, Mark Abrams, Sam Braswell Jr., Lee Sorrells and Michael Tolman Daily.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Friday Morning Episcopal Church Breakfast Bunch, the Friday Night Supper Club, the Demopolis Rotary Club and the Methodist Men’s Sunday school class.
