William M. “Billy” Manning, 74, of Gallion passed away Saturday, Nov. 13 in Tuscaloosa. He was born Jan. 29, 1934 in Birmingham to Roy Lee and Mary Ellen Manning. A retired truck driver from Marengo County, he was preceded in death by his brother, Buford Lee Manning, and his sister, Senora Rodgers. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Sue Manning, his sons, Virgil Manning and Vernon Manning, his daughters Shelia (Gary) Gates, Angelia (Jerry) Long, and his brother, Thomas A. (Marsha) Manning of St. Clair County. He also has a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many kinfolk in St. Clair County. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vint Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will  be family members.
