Steven D. Miller, 53, of Greensboro passed away Thursday, Jan. 13. Born Jan. 7, 1958 in Uniontown, Ohio to Dan J. Miller and the late Anna Mae Slabaugh Miller, he is survived by his wife Cheryl Smyly Miller of Greensboro and father Dan J. Miller and stepmother Brenda Miller. He is also survived by his daughters Lindsey Ann Miller, Amber Nicole Miller, Lauren Haley Miller and Stephanie Camille “Stevie” Miller, all of Greensboro as well as his sisters Julia Miller Ensz (Roger) of Center, Colo. and Gloria Miller Schmidt (Mark) of Newbern, brothers Daniel Miller (Sheri) of Greensboro and Timothy D. Miller of Faunsdale, stepsisters Rhonda Randleman of North Carolina and Amber Arashiro of Michigan as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at Gallion Baptist Church with the reverends Steve Vernon and Hank Atchison officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial followed after the service. The family received friends Saturday night from 6-8 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel. Active Pallbearers included Matthew Courtney, Joey Taylor, Marty Clary, Mike Schroeder, Donnie Wedgeworth and Jerry Sexton. Honorary Pallbearers included his friends throughout the years in the catfish industry. In lieu of flowers, the family deeply wishes memorial be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Funeral arrangements were handled by Kirk Funeral Homes.
