Kathryn Hurt Stroud, 99, of Demopolis died Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Marengo Nursing Home. She was a retired secretary from Westside Elementary School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Demopolis. She is survived by her son Charles W. (Janice) Stroud Jr. of Demopolis, daughters Wanda Stroud Anderson and Laura Stroud (Patrick) Haygood of Birmingham, sister Louise Hurst Patterson of Atlanta, Ga., grandchildren Susan Donovan of Tuscaloosa, Dawn Stroud Fleming of Conchatta, Miss. and Charles Werdner Stroud III of Demopolis as well as seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Charles W. Stroud and one grandchild, John St. Clair Donovan. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Demopolis on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis. Active Pallbearers were Charles Werdner Stroud III, Devin Stroud, David Zipparo, Don Edward Fitzgerald, James Monnier, Don Wilson, Joe Rogers and John Quinlan St. Clair Donovan.
