Lee Spencer Duke, 70, a retired mechanic of Gallion, died June 7 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. He was born October 30, 1940 in Marengo County and a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Jana Lee Etheridge, of Gallion; son, Alan Spencer Duke, Gallion; brother, Robert Duke, of Gallion; sisters, Lelia Henders, of Aliceville, Adelle Steen, of Demopolis and Fannie Walsh, of Demopolis; grandchildren, William Chase Jones, of Prattville, Matthew Chad Jones, of Gallion and Cassie Alan Duke, of Hoover.

Funeral services were held June 9 at Providence Baptist Church with Paul Whitcomb officiating. Burial followed at the church. Active pallbearers were Chase Jones, Chad Jones, Tim Henson, Freddie Steen, Dan Duke and Jim Henders.

Honorary pallbearers were Duke Henders and Bobby Duke.
