Gladys O’Neal Kynard, 80, of Marion, formerly of Tuscaloosa, died July 16 at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
Born Dec. 9, 1930 in Perry County to the late Charles Benjamin and Wyena Sherlin Montz, she is survived by her daughter Emma Jean Kynard (Tommy) Madison of Tuscaloosa, son John Michael (Lucy) Kynard of Marion, sisters Mary Elizabeth (Anderson) Stewart of Tuscaloosa, Betty Lois Carter of Marion, Alice Geneva Montz of Marion and Margaret Jo Melton of Gulf Shores, brother Charles Benjamin (Billie Ruth) Montz Jr. of Marion, grandchildren Michael Allen Kynard of Marion, Jonica (Artie) Pate of Biloxi, Megan (Tracy) Brewer of Navarre, Fla., great grandchildren Madison Pate, Preston Brewer, Chase Brewer and Christian Brewer.
Funeral services were Wendesday, July 20 at WayCross Bible Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Mike Pepple officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.
Active Pallbearers were Artie Pate, Tracy Brewer, Michael Kynard, Mark Royster, Benjie Barwick, Darryl Montz, Rusty Montz and James McIntosh.
Honorary Pallbearers included Dr. Larry Skelton, the nurses and staff of the sixth floor unit and intensive care unit of Druid City Hospital, Charles Washburn and Lorinzol Kynard.
