Ray White Oakes, 96, of Marion died Aug. 24 at Perry County Nursing Home in Marion.

Survivors include a daughter, Patt (Willy) Wilbourne, of Birmingham; sons, Thomas (Judy) Oakes Jr., of Maion, Glen (Collene) Oakes, of Fleming Island, Fla., Charles (Maria) Oakes, of Virginia Beach, Va., Mason (Ralphine) Oakes, of Clifton, Tenn. and John (Gail) Oakes, of Linden; sisters, Blanche Stewart, of Sprott and Leta Hughey, of Sprott; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Marion Cemetery with Rev. Jim Waters Jr. officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.
