THOMASTON — Linden (3-0, 2-0) put the game out of reach in the first half Friday night, blasting A.L. Johnson 57-0 in a region contest.
The Patriots wasted little time getting on the board as Jalen Lewis returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a score.
Anthony Robinson hit Jeremy Carr on the two-point conversion strike to give Linden an 8-0 lead.
Robinson later found Marquis Shelton for a 10-yard scoring pass before Ryan Preston added the extra point to make it 15-0.
After Terris Lewis and Josh Monroe teamed up on a stop in the ALJ end zone for a safety, Jamal Lewis broke a 27-yard touchdown run. Preston’s kick made it 24-0 for LHS.
In the second quarter, Robinson went back to work.
This time, the quarterback went over the top to Terris Lewis for a 40-yard touchdown pass.
The point-after from Preston made it 31-0 in favor of Linden.
The final score of the first half came when Shelton sprinted in from seven yards out to stretch the lead to 37-0.
In the second half, Robinson ran the ball in from 15 yards out to give Linden a 43-0 lead.
On the ensuing possession, Robinson hit Terris Lewis again, this time for a 13-yard touchdown pass. Preston’s point-after kick left Linden up 50-0.
The last score of the evening came when Terrance Raby recovered a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown with 3:14 to go in the third quarter.
Terris Lewis followed to hit his only extra-point attempt of the game.
Shelton finished the night with 80 yards and a score on 13 carries while also adding two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Terris Lewis finished the night with 83 yards and two touchdowns on three catches while also leading the defense with nine tackles and a safety.
Robinson went 7-for-9 through the air for 124 yards and three touchdowns while also running in a score.
Linden will play again next week when it hosts region rival Sweet Water Friday night.
