LINDEN — The Marengo County Sheriff’s office is investigating an assault case that allegedly took place Friday, Sept. 30 in Thomaston. The incident, in which an unidentified male reportedly assaulted a female, occurred near the conclusion of the high school football game between A.L. Johnson and Sweet Water.

“The victim is fine,” Chief James R. Smith of the Marengo County Sheriff’s Department said. “Any witnesses or anyone with information, please contact the Marengo County Sheriff’s office.”
