William Jordan “Toogie” Lewis

William Jordan “Toogie” Lewis, 76, of Brent died Friday, Aug. 17 at Shelby County Medical Center.
He was born April 15, 1936, in Sweet Water. He worked as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Lewis and his daughter, Terri Lynn Lewis.
He is survived by four sons: William J. Lewis II of Centreville, George (Robin) Lewis of Centreville, Mark (Holly) Lewis of Centreville and Adam (Dawn) Lewis of Hayden; one daughter: Angela Avery of Cantonment, Fla.; and four grandchildren: Randi Avery of Cantonment, Fla., Drew Lewis of Birmingham, Amber Lewis of Centreville and Layla Lewis of Centreville.
Graveside funeral services were held at New Octagon Cemetery in Linden on Monday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Gandy officiating.
