Linden hosts final region game of season

The Linden Patriots (8-0, 6-0) face the Fruitdale Pirates (4-4, 4-2) in a matchup of teams that have already clinched playoff spots.
Linden had an unexpected bye week last week because John Essex had to cancel the remainder of their season, but head coach Andro Williams said it will not affect his team’s rhythm.
“We are set to play every Friday night,” he said. “It’s what we work all year for, but when we don’t, it gives us an opportunity to work on what we need to work on. Last week we prepared for John Essex on Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday and Thursday we just worked on what we needed to.”
Williams added that even though his team has already won the region, their goal is to be the undefeated champions of the region.
“Our goal was to win the region,” he said, “and we put ourselves in position to do that. Now our goal is to be the undefeated champs of the region. We just have to take it one week at a time and one game at a time.”
This is the final region game for both teams.
