Marengo Academy faces tough playoff road test

Marengo Academy (7-4, 4-2) goes on the road to Restoration Academy (10-1, 6-0) for a second-round AISA playoff matchup.
Restoration is the No. 1 seed in the AISA Class A playoffs, and have been dominant all season long.
Longhorns head coach Robby James said Restoration is a fast team with a lot of athletes.
“They run fast, real fast,” he said. “They run a spread offense and line up in a pistol formation, but they can also line up in the I-formation. They get you in tight and can spread you out.”
James added that Restoration will be faster than any team the Longhorns have played all year.
“They play man defense and play it well,” he said. “They look like they are real physical on tape. Our kids play hard and I don’t think they’ll be intimidated.”
James also said a lot of people are talking about next year with his team, but that isn’t how they are looking at it.
“A lot of people around here are talking about next year when we are older,” he said, “but we are thinking about right now. The pressure hasn’t gotten to us all year, even when we’ve been up against bigger, stronger teams with a lot of older guys.”
The Longhorns finished the 2011 season with a 2-8 record, falling short of the AISA playoffs.
