UWA’s Wilson to play in Raycom College Football All-Star Classic

LIVINGSTON – University of West Alabama defensive end and Gulf South Conference defensive player of the year Ridge Wilson will participate in the Raycom College Football All-Star Classic at Cramton Bowl Saturday in Montgomery.
Wilson will play for the Stars Team, coached by Jim Bates. Among Wilson’s teammates are players from Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Florida State, Notre Dame, Boston College and South Carolina. The Stripes team is coached by Dan Reeves and features players from programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, to name a few.
Kickoff for the All-Star Classic is set for 2 p.m. The game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network. Tickets range from $20 to $50 and may be purchased at any Montgomery area Regions Bank branch or online at www.collegeallstargame.com.
In addition to being the GSC defensive player of the year, Wilson was an All-GSC first team selection. The senior from Louisville, Ky., recorded 63 tackles in 2012, including 10 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. He also registered six quarterback hurries and forced two fumbles.
