Jack Edward Allday Jr., 84, of Sweet Water, died Tuesday, April 23 at his son’s home in Marion Junction.

He was born July 30, 1928, in Coffeeville. He was a retired engineer assistant with the Alabama Highway Department and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Flowers Allday, of Sweet Water; son, Dewayne Allday of Marion Junction; daughter, Sheri Allday of Birmingham; brother, Marvin Allday of Waynesboro, Miss.; sister, Lois Martin of Klamath Falls, Ore.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Percy Clark officiating. Burial will be at Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to your favorite charity.
