Marengo Academy advances to round two
The Marengo Academy Lady Longhorns are moving on to the second round of the AISA state championship playoffs.
They defeated Edgewood in the first round 10-1 in a strong hitting performance.
Five Lady Longhorns had at least two hits in the game, including Connor Etheridge, who had hit a solo home run in the game. Chandler Stenz, Anna Michael Crocker, Reesa Holifield and Etheridge had two hits and Katie Tucker had three hits.
Andrea Edmonds held Edgewood to just two hits in the game.
“We hit the ball well,” head coach Danny Stenz said. “We looked good, and we need to keep it going.”
The Lady Longhorns will face Ashford in the second round at 4 p.m. today.
