Austin Cleveland Wright Jr., 78, of Gallion, died Friday, June 13 at his home.

He was born May 12, 1936, in Demopolis. He was retired from Gulf States Paper Company where he worked as a pipe fitter and welder. He was a member of Linden Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Letha Wright of Gallion; two sons, Austin Cleveland Wright III of Linden and Raymond Wright of Demopolis; three daughters, Charlotte Barkley of Linden, Shannon Wright Etheridge of Gallion and Lisa Graddy of Spanish Fort; three brothers, Jeff Wright Sr., of York, Tom Wright of Demopolis, and Willie Wright of Texas; one sister, Jerri Randall of Demopolis; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Linden Baptist Church on Monday, June 16 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Billy Harris, the Rev. David Grayson and Dr. Randy Creel officiating. Burial was in the Demopolis Memorial Gardens.

Active Pallbearers were Jeff Wright Jr., Jeremy Barkley, Daniel Wright, Will Wright, Tyler Barkley and Hayden Barkley.

Honorary Pallbearers were The staff of Hospice Advantage, Ken Puzak, Cole Basinger, Steve Ridgeway and Chris Monti.
