Valeria J. Miller on behalf of Mutual Savings Life Insurance presents a $250 donation to the Coming Together Organization to help with the Christmas Feeding event along with various endeavors of CTO during the Christmas season.

The Communing Together Organization (CTO) is preparing for its annual Christmas Feeding this year on Saturday, Dec. 24 at Kora’s place.

In an effort to help facilitate that event, Mutual Savings Life Insurance gave a donation of $250 to CTO.

“We’re extremely thankful,” said Willard Williams, President of CTO. “Our main goal is to feed about 3000 people and give away toys to kids for Christmas. We’re probably pushing on about 650 kids for Christmas.”

Mutual Savings is a life insurance company that services residents in the Demopolis area. The branch that used to be stationed in town moved to Selma, but still has customers in the community. The customer base are residents who make $25,000 or less and can sell up $1 million worth of coverage.

The donation is part of a continuous effort by the company to help make a positive impact in the community.

“We try to help them in their endeavors and the services they provide. Whether it’s feedings, tutoring or whatever we can do to give back to the customers,” said Mutual Savings Senior District Manager Valeria J. Miller.

According to Williams, the Christmas feeding has taken place for nearly 30 years. Last year, the event produced 2750 plates to feed those in need around the Demopolis area.

Donations are still needed to help with the feeding along purchasing toys for the toy drive also being held by CTO.

To make a donation to CTO, the address is P.O. Box 1084 Demopolis, AL 36732 or visit Kora’s Place on Highway 43 in Demopolis and speak to Rev. Lacornia Harris to give a donation.
