Robert Lee Couch, 81, of Demopolis died Dec. 11, 2016 at DCH in Tuscaloosa.
Mr. Couch was born Feb. 26, 1935 in Perry County to the late Robert B. and Ethel Ballard Couch.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a newborn son, Brandon Couch; a newborn daughter, Faith Ann Couch; a daughter, Ira Averett; and a sister, Martha Massey.
He is survived by his wife, Ira Anita Elliott Couch; first wife and mother of his children, Barbara P. Moring; daughters, Peggy Iverson (Phil) of Gallion, Tammy Kershaw (Peter) of Katy, Texas, Kenna Compton (John) of Demopolis, Margie Belcher (Lee) of Demopolis, Helen Locke of Demopolis, Fay Noland (Truman) of Sweet Water, and Linda Etheredge (Doug) of Jefferson; sons, Jeff Couch (Donna) of Demopolis, Gus Couch (Claudia) of Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Nick Couch of Slidell, Louisiana; Jerry Couch (Annette) of Marrero, Louisiana, and Lewis Compton Jr. of Demopolis; sisters, Myrtle Dunn (Harold) of Demopolis, Ethel Walker (James) of Demopolis, and Dorothy Whitfield of Prattville; son-in-law, Donald Averett; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved dearly.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, at noon at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Billy Boggs and Rev. Tony Antonelli officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Couch, Lane Averette, Michael Couch, J.B. Warren, Paul Warren and Hunter Compton.
Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, son-in-laws, stepsons and grandsons.
