The Marengo County School System will conduct a kindergarten and first grade pre-registration clinic on Friday, April 21, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and again from noon to 2:30 p.m.

A child who will be 5 years of age before Sept. 2 may pre-register for kindergarten. Children not already attending kindergarten and who will be six before Sept. 2 are urged to pre-register for first grade on Friday also.

A Certificate of Immunization should be provided to school officials for each child enrolling. The Alabama Committee of Public Health states that children between the ages of four and six receive a second dose of measles vaccine. Proof of the second dose will be required for each new kindergarten and first grade student at the beginning of the school year. The Marengo County Health Department in Linden is the responsible agency for administering this vaccine.
