Deloris McDonald Deas, 63, of Demopolis and formerly of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at her residence.

She worked for several years at Healthtex garment plant in Guin, Alabama until it’s closing, she then pursued a career in nursing and earned her LPN degree.  She worked for several years at the Fayette County Nursing Home before moving to Demopolis where she worked for five years with Home Healthcare and retired from the Marengo County Nursing Home in Linden.  She is a member of Range Line Baptist Church in Linden.

 

Deloris enjoyed spending time with her family, and friends. She enjoyed going to car shows, yard sales, thrift store shopping, and antiques picking. She was also an excellent seamstress making items for family, and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Deas; son, David Dozier (Shana); daughter, April Tidwell (Tony); five grandchildren, Evan Dozier, Daisy Smith, Ronnie Minor, Miles Dozier, and Grayson Minor; three sisters, Lanetta Fowler (Steve), Gwen Tidwell (Bill), Vera Dodd (Ricky); three brothers, Owens McDonald (Tammy), Chesley McDonald (Manuella), Henry McDonald (Margene); two sisters in law, Joyce Prince (JW), Yvonne Walters (Ed); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other close family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert McDonald and Mable Weaver McDonald; and a sister, Venisha Stanford.

A visitation will be held at Range Line Baptist Church in Demopolis on Thursday, June 6, from 4 to 7 p.m.  The funeral service for Deloris will be held on Friday, June 7, at 6 p.m., from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel in Winfield with burial to follow in Morris Cemetery near Hubbertville. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Bro. Randall Smith and Larry Alexander will be the officiating ministers.
