Despite winning the Republican Primary Tuesday for US Representative of District 7, Christian Horn will not be the party’s nominee in the general election in November.

Robin Litaker will be the party’s nominee and will face the incumbent U.S. House District 7 Rep. Terri Sewell, who won the Democratic Primary Tuesday.

The Alabama Secretary of State’s Office issued the following news release about Horn’s request to withdraw from the race:

“On February 25, 2024, Christian Horn notified the Alabama Republican Party that he was officially withdrawing from the Republican Primary for Congressional District 7. At that time, it was too late to remove his name from the ballot, but he was allowed to drop out of the race. The runner-up in the Republican Primary will move forward as the Party’s nominee.

We want to thank Christian Horn for his heart to serve Alabama, and we wish him luck in the next chapter of his life.”
