UWA men lead GSC All-Sports Standings

A co-championship in football, combined with third place finishes in soccer and cross country, has the University of West Alabama leading the Gulf South Conference All-Sports Standings through the fall sports season with 12.500 points.

West Florida is in second place with 10.500 points, followed by Alabama-Huntsville (10.375), North Alabama and Valdosta State (5.500), Christian Brothers (4.875), Delta State (4.750) and West Georgia (3.500). Points remain for basketball, baseball, golf and tennis.

The UWA women are seventh with final standings in basketball, golf, softball and tennis still to come. West Florida has a commanding lead on the women’s side with 21.500 points, followed by Alabama-Huntsville and Valdosta State, who are tied for second at 13.875. Rounding out the women’s standings following the fall are West Georgia (12.750), Christian Brothers (11.625), UNA (10.250), UWA (9.625) and Delta State (2.750).

Only “active” members as defined by the GSC Bylaws qualify for the All-Sports Trophy. “Affiliate” members in specific sports, as well as schools in the GSC Membership Process, are not eligible. Only those sports in which the GSC sponsors official championships will be included in the calculation.
