The Marengo County History and Archives Museum Foundation will be holding town hall meetings in the communities of Marengo County to spread the word about its museum project.

The Foundation will present a virtual tour of the museum at the meetings, providing information about what the archives and museum will offer, and answering any questions.

The first meeting for the communities of Thomaston, Faunsdale and Dayton will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Rural Heritage Center in Thomaston.

The Foundation invites everyone from those communities to attend.

Demopolis’s meeting will be at the Rosenbush Building, the future home of the museum, on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m.

The Marengo County History and Archives Museum Foundation’s mission is to promote the collection, preservation, interpretation and display of those artifacts, documents and events most representative of Marengo County: its prehistory and history, its people and institutions, and its cultural and economic development and to preserve Marengo County heritage for the benefit and education of present and future generations.
